HAITI TPS EXTENDED AND REDESIGNATED 2024

IJDH is excited to convey a major victory: the Administration’s June 28, 2024 announcement extending and redesignating Haiti for Temporary Protected Status (TPS), which will let about 309,000 additional Haitians apply for work permits and for the protection from deportation which about 214,000 Haitians with TPS already enjoy.

IJDH worked intensely for months to achieve this goal, proactively coordinating with local and national community allies, soliciting organizational and political support, suggesting and writing opinion pieces, and broadly disseminating support items. Our press release on this victory is below, and we thank you for making this work possible!
