“The current situation makes things endlessly more difficult, but it seems to me there would be challenges with this [Moïse] investigation regardless,” IJDH Senior Staff Attorney Alexandra Filippova states to The Haitian Times in an update on the investigation into the assassination of former President Jovenel Moïse and Haiti’s justice system. “The truth is that Haiti’s government has systematically dismantled its justice sector and seriously impeded accountability for serious human rights violations.”
